In our short tenure as a political organization, we have endorsed two candidates across one federal election cycle:
During the 2014 midterm primaries, we endorsed New Jersey Assemblyman Upendra J. Chivukula (D), an Indian-born electrical engineer and former Franklin Township Mayor. The Assemblyman has had a long career including 17 years of service in the state legislature and a number of leadership positions on different committees. His biggest issues include increasing aid for college students, promoting science and research, and using scientific development to create better environmental policies and more jobs. Although the Assemblyman did not win the primary, he continues serving in the state legislature as he has for the last few decades.

After the 2014 primaries, S-PAC endorsed Nick Troiano, an Independent running for US house in Pennsylvania's 10th congressional district. Nick is a young civic entrepreneur from Milford, PA, who decided to run for Congress after becoming disillusioned with both parties and what he perceived to be their inability to solve major problems facing America. His campaign accepted no financial assitance from special interst groups or Super PACs, and as a result, he received a higher vote share than any other Independent running for Congress in a three-way race. Nick continues to work on political reform projects with Run for America, a nonprofit with the mission of increasing youth engagement in politics.
