S-PAC at NYU hosts weekly meetings throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Each week we consider a current political topic such as a new policy proposal or a recent controversial event and discuss the political themes behind them. Discussions are completely student-driven and are open to all students, regardless of their political experience or ideological alignment. After a short background speech from our President, a vote is held to determine the official Student PAC policy position.

We also invite guest speakers to lead discussions on issues that they handle daily in their careers. Here, we invited one of our endorsed candidates in 2014, New Jersey Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, to come to the Square and speak about his platform and how it relates to NYU students. S-PAC aspires to create healthy relationships between NYU students and politicians, and will continue to expand its network with political candidates in the coming years.

Student PAC strives to build productive coalitions on campus by partnering with local organizations for events. In Fall 2014, we began a partnership with TEDxNYU to co-sponsor several events, including their Pitch Competition where several students gave TED talks about public policy issues, technology, and other topics. We also co-sponsored a voting reform TED talk by NYU Politics Professor Steven Brams. Student PAC will continue its coalition-building efforts to bring exciting events and opportunities to NYU students.

S-PAC at NYU & iCitizen had a joint meeting, where we discussed the voting habits, and the future of voting in the digital age. iCitizen is an app that tracks elected officials and the issues you choose to care about in real time. iCitizen's own, Alex, came to share this new and exciting opportunity for young voters to stay in touch with both their local and federal representatives, as well as stay informed on major issues, and keep track of current movement in our government.

S-PAC also organizes trips away from NYU to allow our members to work with and learn from other political organizations and campaigns. In the 2014 midterm elections, we endorsed Nick Troiano, an Independent running for US House in Pennsylvania's 10th congressional district, and our members took a weekend trip to Pennsylvania to work on his campaign and learn how to win votes without special interest or Super PAC funding. Campaigning trips will be organized once candidates are endorsed, so be sure to stay up-to-date!
